Horse Racing Systems – How to win when you go horse racing

Horse racing is one of the most exciting sports imaginable and it takes place all over the world. Although people will tell you that it is the thrill of watching horses pitting themselves against each other that is the fascination of the sport this is not really true.

The one aspect of racing that captures the interest and imagination of the majority of race goers is the betting. Occasional race goers often rely on factors such as the name of the horse or the fact that a horse is the favourite to make their selection. Occasionally luck will go their way but more often than not they will come away losers. For this reason many people believe that you have to be a racing form expert to win at the races.

This is not really true. When trying to find winners at the races here are 6 factors you should consider when making your selections

The Distance of the race:

Most horses are breed to run specific distances such as sprints, middle distance or long distances. In the UK the shortest races are run over 5 furlongs and the longest around 3 miles. Sprint races are between 5 and 7 furlongs and often horse that are really quick over 5 furlongs run out of steam if they run any further. Equally if a horse is finishing fast and catching up the other runners over 5 furlongs he maybe ideally suited to 6 or 7 furlongs. If you look at the form card and see in the previous race the horse was described as running on or finishing strongly this could indicate a horse needs a little further distance

The Number of runners

Normally the bigger the field the harder it is to find the winner. In large fields it is often not the best horse who wins. It is easy for a horse to get trapped in amongst other runners and never get out to make a challenge. In large fields it can be advisable either not to bet at all or just have a place bet.

The Going

There are very few horses that like every type of ground. Some prefer to run in soft going whilst other love the hard ground were you can hear the sound of the horses hooves rattling. However, the majority of horse prefer “Good” going were the ground is neither to soft or too firm. This is particularly true of horses at the top level of racing. Many experts say that the size of the horse’s feet has also an effect on the result of the race. Horses with large feet go in the soft and smaller footed animals the firm.

The Time since their last run

When the horse last ran is an important consideration that you have to think about before you pick out your bet. Many horses that have not been racing for awhile will need a race or two to sharpen up and become race fit. On the other hand there are a few horses that run their best races when fresh and are running after a lay off. You should be able to spot these if you look at their past form. If a horse has raced in the last 28 days that should give some indication that the horse is race fit.

The Horses Form

One of the strongest form indicators is if a horse has won on the course before. It is even better if it has not only won on the course but at the distance as well. This is shown on the form card as CD and is good sign. It is also a good indication if a horse is showing improvement. For instance if in its last 3 races it finished, unplaced, fourth and then second it could well be due for a win.

The Favourite

Obviously not all favourites win and this is particularly true in handicap races. In fact On average about one in three favourites actually win. However, in non handicap races especially with small fields that percentage can rise 50% or more.

Next time you go to the races if you consider these 6 factors there is a real chance that you could come away with some profit on your days racing.

People have been involved in horse racing since hundreds of years ago. The earliest horse racing took place in the central Asia region. At that time, the nomadic tribesmen would ride on their horses to compete with each other.

The professional horse racing sport started in the 12th century. It all started after the knights made their return from the war. The knights were riding on Arab horses. Thoroughbred horses are stemmed from the arab horses. The thoroughbred horses are used in the horse racing game in England.

When King Charles II reign, horse races are held in the open fields. The winners is the who finish the race fastest with the horse. The winner is bestowed with a price from the king. The first place where the horse racing was held is the Newmarket in Great Britain.

When Queen Anne succeeded the throne, the horse race is already a professional sport. During that time, race courses are build in several locations in England.

The professional jockeys assembled at the Newmarket to develop the Jockey club. The Jockey Club is responsible of creating the rules for the horse racing. In 1814 – 15, the horse races is open for horses that are at least 3 years old.

After a few years, the people starts to breed horses to be used in horse racing. James Weatherby is responsible of records the family history of all the pedigree horses in England. James Weatherby was an accountant for the Jockey Club at that time. Subsequently, he compiled the General Stud Book in 1793. The General Stud Book record all the foal that is born to race in the horse races in England.

Up to this day, the Jockey Club plays an important role in regulating the horse racing. Despite that, the British Horseracing Board is the dominant governing authority.

For a long period of time, horse racing was thought to be exclusively the sport of the Royal House. Not anymore and not entirely true. Historical records prove that horse racing events were part of the Greek Olympics back in the BC time. The British claim their country is the home of modern horse racing. They were indeed the ones who recognized the value of this noble sport, formed the first Jockey Club ever (in 1750) and established standards, rules and regulations. This sport has traveled (together with the most popular subject: the British Crown) in all the territories they have colonized, finally reaching America as well.

In the United States, as well as around the world, many people consider horse racing as a fashionable pleasant sport. Many people participate to such events mainly consisting of betting on a horse because of several reasons: they are interested in earning money, having fun or admiring beautiful horses. But however attractive this activity may be for many inexperienced race fans, they still have to learn a few things to bet correctly on a horse. What people need to know is how to pick the future horse racing champion. They need to learn horse racing history, to familiarize with different horse breeds, racing categories, horse racing jargon and distinguish between different types of bets. These technical aspects are ignored by the largest part of the horse racing onlookers, but are passionately studied by horse devotees or ardent gamblers.

The horses running on the track in these racecourses are not common at all. Only certain horse breeds are physically capable of sprinting on either short or long distances maintaining a high speed at the same time. Race horses have been bred in Europe from a mixture of selected sires, including two Arab sires and a Turk sire, for only one purpose: to run. The most important horse breeds used in horse racing events are the Thoroughbred and the Quarter Horse. Each of these breeds has particular outstanding features, making them quite different in terms of physical aspect, temperament and strength.

The Thoroughbred is a refined and intelligent looking horse, able to carry a certain weight at a fairly constant high speed during long distance horse racing. Thoroughbreds have a hasty neck breaking temperament, thus not being recommended for beginner riders. On the other hand, the Quarter Horse has a kind and patient temperament, compatible with a variety of riders. Quarter Horses have thickly muscled bodies, which fully qualifies them for fast sprints on short distances. Knowing all these details about race horse breeds can make the difference when betting on a horse online or at a horse racing track. It is a good advice to navigate on horse-info.net for news and detailed information.

Any bettor or bystander should know that there are several types of horse racing: thoroughbred racing, harness racing and quarter horse racing, on long or short distance, flat or hurdled surfaces. Thoroughbred horse racing is the most popular type, in which the horse, mounted by a jockey, runs on flat tracks for distances up to two miles. In a harness type horse racing, a standard breed horse pulls a two-wheeled bike conducted by a driver over a one-mile course, distance on which it is not allowed to gallop or run as the couple horse-jockey is disqualified. Quarter horse racing is a short distance flat type, the shortest race being organized on a five furlong distance. Never heard of a furlong? Check this out: a furlong is one-eight of a mile, which means four furlongs is half of a mile, so five furlongs is a little longer than half a mile. You need to be good at mathematics! Don’t ask why they still use a furlong despite the international measuring system because everyone will say it is tradition.

Of course, different countries have diverse horse racing types or distances. Also, the going, the draw and the trip might show significant differences. The going refers to the state of the ground, which can be firm or softer, on flat dirt or grass surfaces. All these influence the performance of a horse during the race and those better on one type are rarely good on the others. The draw, designating the stall a horse comes out of, can make a win or a loss especially in short trips, while a trip is not a riding escapade, but the actual distance of the race.

Keeping all these basics in mind, you can let yourself drawn into the tumultuous life of bettors, also known in the world of horse racing as punters. When betting on a horse you should decide which type of bets to choose out of straight bets, exacta, quinella or sweep. In the States, bettors may claim a “double” if betting on a horse scheduled to run in the first two events of the day.

Article by Aiden Brunson

Perhaps the most important thing in horse racing is to have a horse racing system. It really helps to be able to have direction in your bets as opposed to relying solely on gut instinct. This not only helps your win rate, it also enhances your enjoyment of the sport better. There is no better way to experience horse racing than to win while enjoying its thrill.

Wise Up

You have to employ a horse racing system. No two ways about it. If you engage in horse racing, it is a must. When you do get a horse racing system, stick to it. Do not try to find excuses to deviate from it. Try to make one up on your own. There are lots of systems out there already but something you researched and formulated may be the best for your particular situation.

Put In The Work

You are going to do a tremendous amount of research. Better get used to the idea. Look into the horses running a given race and find out all you can about them. This information is readily available though. Try the Internet for starters. After that, you can look at the size of the field. If there are more horses, there are less chances of actually picking the winner. You must be able to factor this into your decision process.

Another less obvious consideration for your horse racing system is the type of ground that the race is being run on. A horse’s performance can vary on soft and hard ground. You should know the strengths of each horse and make your decision accordingly. Make sure also that the horse is in good condition. It should not be an inactive horse. This would make a poor choice. Your horse racing system should prioritize horses that are racing frequently. But do not consider a horse that has raced too often. It could be exhausted.

Other Considerations

Look at the distance of a particular race. Some horses perform better at certain distances. A very short race may prevent certain types of horse from taking advantage of its capabilities. But some other horse may not be able to run that distance at all. So a horse racing system should take these things into account.

You should also factor in expert advice into your horse racing system. Coming up with your own system is great but do not ignore the wisdom of those who have gone on before you. You can definitely shorten a learning curve by taking advantage of existing knowledge on the subject matter. These things can only make your own system that much better. Integrate them into your own experiences and you will definitely have a killer system. But do not merely take their word for it. Test the theories and observations.

In the end, you will have a good horse racing system that takes all these different variables into account. And when you have this, you will definitely be on your way to profitability.

It’s not always simple to make a profit from horse race betting online. It can be tough, and several betters actually end up losing their bets at the end of the race. Their losses can be widely attributed to all the horse race betting strategies out there that claim to provide you with a strategy to produce wins.

Several of these guidelines have been written by bookies which try to reel in betters into using and forking over money for their betting opportunities. The bookies can easily change the system and drop the odds right before the horse race even commences, leaving many punters with practically nothing.

Professional horse race betters use very mathematically related algorithms and methods to pull off regular winnings, even getting the chance to make a full time income from horse race betting online.

Here are a few good rules to make sure your horse racing betting improves:

Before you jump into any horse racing buts, you should make it a ritual each day to look at the racing form each day. You can find them at the tracks, bookstores, newsstands, and of course online. They will tell you which horses and jockeys are scheduled to race that day and who are most favorited. Getting involved with the daily form is necessary if you want to start placing winning bets.Examine each horse so you can get the idea of their performance by looking at their last three races. Keep in mind two specific points: determine the figures of speed and make comparisons to the average speed and position as related to the other horses that you may be putting your money on. Just as well, you should consider the distance numbers over the course of the last three races. Determine if the distance of those past races are comparable to the distance that you are considering to bet on.Always analyze the favorited horses during each race. Most races will have several favorite horses and because favorited performers normally have a 30-40% statistical rate of winning, you should always look at the favorites first. Most likely, they will provide you with a good chance of winning in horse race betting online. Finally, you should analyze the jockey who is riding the horse you are going to bet on. Even the best horse can be a better’s disaster if it is coupled with a bad jockey. Refer to the daily racing form to see which jockeys will be riding which horses and compare how each jockey stands up beside other jockeys.

The biggest impact on your bets come from knowing where, when, and how to act on your betting activities. The winnings are in the math and analysis.

There are many different rules and regulations that have to be followed to have your horse registered properly in the horse racing entries that are available for any particular race. Entering for these horse races should be done as soon as possible before the race because there are deadlines involved with these races and many people do not realize that and have been late because of it.

Many times these horse racing entries for bets have deadlines and are in place for a reason. This gives time for officials to post the proper odds for the race and many other detailed areas that need to be addressed. This could be considered something that the novice who is new to the betting world would do. Being informed about horse racing entries and the workings of a horse race in general is something that should be done first. Getting familiar with the many different types of horse racing entries that have to be done ahead of time will save you a good amount of money overall.

Taking some time to look at the different styles of horses and various betting techniques that many have used over the years can be as easy as logging onto the Internet and getting the information that way. There you will find hundreds if not thousands of different websites that offer horse racing tips and tricks along with the horse racing entries that have to be entered by a certain time. All of these factors come into play when you are betting on horses either online or at the local race track.

Information is key when it comes to betting on horses – if you do not have the right information on the particular horse you are trying to bet on or if for some reason the horse has been hurt you will need to know about that immediately. This will affect the horses running ability along with his confidence level to win the race. Not knowing this information ahead of time and placing the healthy wager on the horse that has this type of problem, could cost you many thousands of dollars if you are betting on this horse to win.

Horse racing entries and many other pieces of information that need to be known ahead of time before placing a bet will be something that you should look into before making a bet on any horse.
